This product is an optical encoder sensor head to be mounted in a machine tool orstage requiring position measurement.
You can create a position detection system by combining with a compatible scale
sold separately (S-800L50G or S-800L500F, etc.).
Features:
The head and scales are resistant to vibration and shock because they workoptically with no mechanical contact. They also have longer operating lives
because their light source is LED.
Mounting tolerance is great and the maximum speed is as high as 4 m/s.
Total height from head to scale is only 9.9 mm (when a scale with glass up to 100
mm is used) and the minimum resolution of 0.4 um is available without using a
relay box. You can set resolution to 0.4, 1.0, 2.0, or 5.0 um.
Since the product is equipped with a Z-phase detector, the Z phase can be
obtained by using a scale with Z-phase pattern.
If the scale has no Z-phase pattern, you can obtain the Z phase at an arbitrary
position by using the Z-phase mark.
